Rick,

I just wanted to say thank you Ricky for finding Basco for my wife you came and helped us in a way no one has...I am on call for work which puts me out of my home all hours of the night and I travel on weekends as well.. With Basco watching over my wife and home I have no doubt she will be well protected...Within the first week of owning Basco he was put to the test a man came up to my front door and starting talking to my wife trying to sell something or so my wife thought...Something struck her wrong about the man when she asked him to please leave he then tried to enter my home Basco watching the whole time charged the man and he slammed the door and ran across the street into the woods...I put my trust in you and Sassafrask-9 to find me the dog I needed and you more than  did that you saved my wife from god knows what...A million thanks to you..Basco is a well rounded dog and a pure joy THANK YOU Ricky for Basco...

This is a letter of recommendation that was sent from a current client to his neighbors:

Hi All,

Being that you all have puppies, you may be considering training him/her. As
such, I wanted to let you know where Zeus went for his basic obedience training
(and where he continues to go for more advanced training). The training facility
is SassafrasK9, located just 4 miles from Savannah Court. We have been, and
continue to be, extremely pleased with the training and results.

Rick Gallaway is the Director of Training and has trained hundreds of
different breeds and as such he can help you with accomplishing your training goals,
whatever they may be. He personally trains every dog and furthermore, Rick
offers a satisfaction guarantee that you cannot pass up. I have taken the
liberty of attaching his flyer for additional information.

If you are considering this, call Rick or feel free to come with me and
observe a class in action.

Good Luck,

Al

Rick,

Brother!!  All I can say is thank you!  Thank you!

Yesterday was a good training session.  Like I said many times before, I'm not a trainer but I'm learning.  I appreciate that you pointed out my mistakes along with the corrections.  We all can point I the bad things but you must show the way in order to make them better.  I can say now that my puppy does have the genetic make up to be a good working dog.  I have to do my part to bring it out with your assistance.   You must applaud yourself and say that you are a asset to the working dogs.  You are clearly training your dogs and educating your club members.  Which many clubs out there do not do maybe because it's a lack of their own training skills, I don't know.
I have a small recommendation also.  Many trainers do not emphasize on their web sites puppy development.  I've found through working with you, and observed a lot a dogs with personality problems a puppy must be raised in a proper environment.  Whether a working dog home, a pet home, etc there must be foundation work.  My dog Nick has been with you, taken to many different environments (shopping centers, kids, traffic, other animals, etc).  I wish that I was retired so that I can just do it constantly because it makes a big difference.

So kudos to you and thanks.

To Anyone considering the services odf Sassafras K-9:

We lived in a small apartment and needed training for our not so small puppy (Pawsha). Rick not only trained her quickly, but trained us how to get the response and behavior that we needed from our dog. He educated us regarding the types of food to give her and what types of toys were best.

In the end, I think we needed more training than the dog.

Thanks Rick!

Rick:

I just wanted to thank you for the excellent training you provided for my 3 dogs (Rusty- chocolate lab, Cody- Black lab, and Abby- Rottweiller). It is amazing how well behaved they are now after the 3-week boot camp training they received. I can now take them in public without being embarrassed thanks to you! J In fact, Abby just passed her AKC Canine Good Citizenship tests with flying colors and was the most obedient dog in the class. The AKC trainer kept using Abby as an example to demonstrate the different training test modules. We couldn't have done it without your help!

I highly recommend your training services to others.

Best Regards,

Teresa, Rusty, Cody, and Abby Angelo

Rick,

Just sending you a quick note to say 'Thanks' for your training help with my Rottweiler, Nino. As you know I was concerned because he was very aggressive to people and had a terrible obedience problem.Within a few session with you, Nino would come when called, walk by my side without pulling me, and became very tolerant of strangers. I went on to take your advice to try personal protection with him and actually got a PSA Level 1 title on him. I had no idea that Nino had it in him to be completely under control off leash, be oblivious to gun fire, protect and be called off all under completed control. I'm very impressed with your training style and ability and will recommend you to everyone that I know with dogs.

Thanks for your help.

My vet told me about Rick. She said he can perform miracles. I needed one. I had just been given a 7 month old, 100 lb, spoiled, alpha, mouthy, loved to jump on people, male German Shepherd puppy. I was his 4th home and the poor dog suffered from an attachment disorder. He didn't have any manners, didn't come when called, and chased the cats and horses (which had to stop or he couldn't stay). Rick was able to teach him the basic commands and get him under control. The dog is trained to an electronic collar so I can control him from a distance (just a little vibrate and he's comes running!) More importantly, he comes immediately whether he's wearing his collar or not. Rick truly saved this dog and gave him a chance as an indoor family dog. I recommend him highly.

Rick-

I would to thank you again for the awesome training you provided for my German Shepherd Tyson.  Before you trained him he whined, need obedience, jumped on people, biting, and would go crazy when it came to food.  Now he is always by my side, sits before he eats and drinks, obedient, knows commands, hardly whines, except when he know he is being let out of his crate, never bites, and doesn’t jump anymore on people.  Total 180 turn after you trained him.

As a repeat customer you have exceed my expectations again. From training my two rotties, to my german shepherd.  Thank you for the continual exception training you provide.  Anyone wanting your services is getting the best of both worlds, a great dog, and superb training.

Thanks

Dear Rick,

Thank you so much for taking the time to train Cooper our 10 month old German Shepard. Before your training I could not take my dog on any walks without him pulling. I did go through other obedience training with Cooper, where he learned the basic commands such as sit, down, and stay. But even with the 6 weeks in other obedience courses he was still out of control. You came highly recommended from my vet, where you used to take your dogs. She told me about your dogs and insisted I go visit your training site.
My girlfriend being 9 months pregnant is now finally able to walk with the dog, and having the dog out of his cage while I'm not home. She couldn't do that throughout her entire pregnancy as the dog would pull her when he was on the leash on walks; wrap her up with the leash. He also had a bad issue with running past her on the steps. Cooper was also a jumper when it came to greeting people.

Three weeks with you turned him into a whole new dog. I can now walk with my dog in confidence that he will obey my every command. When I stop walking my dog goes into an instant sit. If I put my dog in a down position he will stay in the down position until I break him of that. It has come in handy when I am doing chores around the house to just put my dog in a down position and be able to leave the door open as I get the groceries out of my car. I am absolutely pleased with him finally listening to me.
Throughout the training Rick kept me well informed by giving a report on the new tasks that he was working with Cooper. If there was something that I wanted Cooper to learn Rick ensured that he learned it and he was very flexible with the pickup. He did not mind working around our schedule at all. He was very professional throughout the whole training.
I know it was a great thing we did and I believe others can truly benefit from it.

Thank you Rick
